Plentiful guidance and help for self-study
The program format is simple enough that computer novices will immediately be able to use it. A 'Help' button provides guidance about what can be done at every point in the program. A 'Tips' button tells different users how best to use Seeing and Hearing Speech (for example, with hearing aids, or cochlear implants). 

Users are also guided by descriptions shown before entering each level of the program. Suggestions are made before each lesson is presented about the expected difficulty of the lesson under each of the optional presentation conditions.
